Development of The IB Primary Years Programme, for students aged 6 to 12.
Moscow School 1231 & Silver Tree Primary School (UK)

The main objective of the visit was to take part in the Development of The IB Primary Years Programme, for students aged 6 to 12.
This Project helps the UK children from the communities of the North-East of England to have a personal experience of collaboration with youngsters from Europe and neighbouring countries.

The Project focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside:

  • encourages international-mindedness in primary pupils
  • encourages a positive attitude to learning by engaging students in inquiries and developing their awareness of the process of learning so that they become lifelong learners

We worked trough the following six themes of global significance and created activities that allow all the participants to “step up” beyond their current knowledge of learning:

  • Who we are
  • Where we are in place and time
  • How we express ourselves
  • How the world works
  • How we organize ourselves
  • Sharing the planet

The young visitors from Moscow (Russia) discovered not only new friends at Primary School in Durham but also amazing cultural sites, history of England and enjoyed sport & fun.
